- Web 2.0
Is your firm scared of technology?
The first barriers that many firms throw up when discussing technology upgrades is “This will cost too much,” or “How will we manage more technologies?” However, there are many Web 2.0 tools that will enhance your communications if handled correctly that are either inexpensive or free and that require little more expertise than being able to use a Web browser.
Some of the tech tools that your firm should consider when you do your annual and/or strategic planning are:
– Web-based virtual meetings that can bring clients and teams together at a much lower cost than travel.
– Webinars or webcasts that can be used for project presentations “including to the public” and for in-house training as well as many other instances were you need to communicate to a broad or spread-out audience.
– Podcasts and on-line video which allows the recipient to view the content when and where they choose.
– Blogs, which can be used for projects, for team collaboration or for groups who are interested in a particular subject.
If your firm is using some of these tools, we would love to hear what you are using and how successful it has been.
